From the SJR Today anchor desk to international conference stages—Claire Repisky Pelura still loves the mic!
Last Thursday afternoon, we welcomed Claire, SJR Class of 2010, back to campus to kick off our 2026–27 Alumni Speaker Series. She shared with our 5th–8th graders how her SJR experiences helped shape her path—and where that path has taken her.
At SJR, Claire played CYO sports, anchored SJR Today, and even started Bird Brain! After attending Archbishop Wood High School and Stockton University, she built a career that began with a wedding planning job at just 18 and grew into managing events and festivals.
Today, Claire works in business development at Invent Medical alongside her father and uncle. The company creates custom 3D-printed orthotics and prosthetics that help people move with greater comfort and confidence—from devices that support children’s mobility to the Raptor Mask, which protects athletes returning to sports after facial injuries.
What a wonderful example for our students of where their interests, talents, and experiences can lead—and how their work can make a difference in others’ lives.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for last night’s HSA Meeting! Mrs. Illg, our HSA President, kicked off the evening with an exciting look at what’s happening at SJR this October from Trunk & Treat, Halloween Dance & Hayride, Boo-Grams, and Chick-fil-A Spirit Night! There is so much to look forward to!
Our Keynote speaker, Dr. Coakley, gave us practical strategies for coaching executive functioning at home. She introduced the idea of a scaffolding ladder, showing how taking small, manageable steps can build skills, confidence, and ultimately, greater independence!

Today we held our first school-wide Dress Down Day! Our students proudly wore pink while coming together for a meaningful cause. All proceed were donated to Pockets of Hope, an organization that supports women as they go through breast cancer treatment.

Always doing wonderful things.
This time last Sunday, our SJR families were enjoying all the indoor festivities of Oktoberfest at St. Robert Bellarmine Parish!
A huge thank you to all of our SJR families, alumni, and parishioners who stopped by our booth to say hello, learn more about SJR, and show their support!
We were especially proud to have two of our own SJR students participate in the craft/vendor area. Alana, 3rd grade, was busy selling the beautiful bracelets she made, while her grandmother, a talented seamstress, offered SJR girls hair ties and adorable SJR uniforms made for American Girl dolls! Robbie, 5th grade, shared his love of sports by selling cards from his personal collection.
Our SJR families were busy at St. Joseph Parish as well, selling pretzels after Mass. The parishioners at St. Joseph always love the opportunity to connect with our students, making these moments extra special and a wonderful way to celebrate the spirit of SJR!
We are so grateful for the continued support and friendship with our parish families.
