For the fourth year, SJR proudly supported The Next Step Program through a school-wide collection drive. Our school community donated craft and office supplies, outdoor activity items, and gift cards for cooking and baking activities.
Today, we were excited to welcome Two Explorer groups from TNS. Our 8th grade students presented the donations and then spent time together playing board games and enjoying conversation. It was a wonderful day for everyone! #WeAreSJR, #SJRproud, #archphilly, #AOPS_schools, @aops_schools, @TNSprograms, #TNS ... See MoreSee Less

I'm beyond impressed by the efforts of the entire SJR community. Your dedication and kindness are making a real difference in the lives of others. Keep shining! ✨
The Pre-K used their fine motor skills today to create Dr. Seuss themed activities. Fine motor activities strengthen the hand muscles and improve coordination which is needed for writing. They used tweezers to sort mini erasers, added pipe cleaner “hair” to thing 1 & thing 2. In addition the students stacked cups and played with suction cups. #WeAreSJR, #SJRproud, #archphilly, #AOPS_schools, @aops_schools . ... See MoreSee Less

Today, our younger students celebrated the birthday of Dr. Seuss as part of Read Across America Spirit Week! The Kindergarten celebrated with the reading of the book, “Fox in Socks” by Dr. Seuss and showed off there silly or mismatched socks!
The 1st grade had a fun day reading “Put Me in the Zoo” by Robert Lopshire, edited by Dr. Seuss, about a spotted animal who wants to be in the zoo but learns he’s special enough for the circus instead. The class dressed to reflect the spotted animals in the book! What a great start to a spirited week of reading! #WeAreSJR, #SJRproud, #archphilly, #AOPS_schools, @aops_schools ... See MoreSee Less

the kids choir sounded so beautiful. Great job Elaine Johnson, that's one heck of a group. Love hearing this and seeing the school kids receiving ashes.
